Im Herzen der See OV

In the summer of 1918 the whaling ship Essex and its crew around Captain Pollard (Benjamin Walker) sets sail. Petty Officer Second Class Owen Chase (Chris Hemsworth) who wants to become a Captain of his own ship after return is also aboard. But the men don’t know which ordeals they have to face. One day a huge whale attacks the ship, almost all men of the crew die and the ship gets destroyed. The survivors just have three small boats, some supplies and navigation tools left to return to the shore.
